The great thing about these recipes are that just about anyone could make it. No baking skills required! Sure cooking the flour adds an annoying step but it’s worth the peace of mind especially when you are serving it to someone else.. This edible cookie dough recipe is so easy to make because it only has a few ingredients and it takes minutes to come together.
Raw Cookie Dough is That Safe To Eat ??
It isn’t the safest to eat raw flour. In recent years people have found that faw flour can cause stomach issues so it’s better to heat treat your flour before making edible cookie dough to be safe.
How to heat treat: place the flour in a bowl and then place on high in the microwave until the flour reaches an internal temp of 166°F. This takes generally 50-60 seconds. Once you do this you’re good!
How to Heat Treat Flour
There are two main ways to heat treat flour so that it’s safe to eat in edible cookie dough. The easiest method is to microwave your flour on high until it reaches 165°F throughout. Use an instant-read thermometer to make sure that it has all reached 165°F, then stir it into your edible cookie dough recipe as usual. The other method is to heat your flour in a conventional oven. Spread the flour out on a rimmed baking sheet and bake it in a preheated oven at 300°F in 2-minute intervals, checking the temperature after each interval until it reaches 165°F throughout.
Since I love cookie dough so much I’ve decided to share THREE incredibly delicious flavors that will tempt everyone and anyone, trust me no one can resist young and old alike!
