- In Turkey, it is eaten especially for breakfast called yumurtalı ekmek but its recipe does not contain milk, only eggs unlike the French recipe. Another difference is that French toast is cooked in oil, not butter. The Turks appreciate it accompanied by various jams.
- In India, French toast is due to the influence of American television in the country. Thus, in the subcontinent, the salty variant is not as well known as the sweet French toast. This should not be confused with Bombay toast, a sandwich dipped in chickpea flour batter, spiced and fried in oil.

- 200 g brioche, sliced
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons of icing sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract optional
- 25g butter
- 150 ml cream
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla paste
- 2 teaspoons of icing sugar
- 250 g fresh strawberries to garnish
- 250 ml of maple syrup optional
Instructions
Beat the eggs with the milk, sugar and vanilla extract. Dip the brioche slices in the milk mixture until well soaked. Melt the butter in a frying pan. Fry the brioche over medium heat for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Beat cream and icing sugar with vanilla paste until peaks form. Top with a tablespoon of cream, a broken strawberry and sprinkle with icing sugar. Serve with maple syrup if using.
