Beaver Tails

one of iconic Canadian dishes .A Beaver Tails a pastry of fried dough stretched to resemble a beaver tail.It can be covered with different condiments such as chocolate, sugar, cinnamon, garlic butter or grated cheese.

Ingrédients
  

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 20 g of melted butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 80 ml of lukewarm milk
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1.5 tbsp dry baker's yeast
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt or fine salt

Instructions
 

  • In a salad bowl or the bowl of your food processor, pour the flour, melted butter, sugar, cinnamon and salt.To mix everything.
  • Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm milk.Add it to the bowl and mix again.
  • Stir in the egg and lemon juice.Once the dough is homogeneous, cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Then divide the dough into 4 balls.Spread them out on a floured work surface in a sort of "rectangular oval" about 10cm wide by 20cm long.
  • Heat the oil and immerse the beaver tails one by one.Fry for about 30 seconds on each side.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve with maple syrup, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice or Nutella. enjoy !
