Quick and Easy French Toast Recipe

called French toast or golden toast in French-speaking Canada, is a dish made from bread soaked in a mixture of milk and egg and then cooked. It is known in many parts of the world.It is also possible to incorporate cheese in the preparation, the French toast is then served as a starter or main course for lunch or dinner, possibly accompanied by ham.

Ingrédients
  

  • 200 g brioche, sliced
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons of icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract optional
  • 25g butter
  • 150 ml cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla paste
  • 2 teaspoons of icing sugar
  • 250 g fresh strawberries to garnish
  • 250 ml of maple syrup optional

Instructions
 

  • Beat the eggs with the milk, sugar and vanilla extract.
  • Dip the brioche slices in the milk mixture until well soaked.
  • Melt the butter in a frying pan. Fry the brioche over medium heat for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Beat cream and icing sugar with vanilla paste until peaks form.
  • Top with a tablespoon of cream, a broken strawberry and sprinkle with icing sugar. Serve with maple syrup if using.
